We were very fortunate to have Rob Barty visit our club on Monday evening to share the Ash Barty Story followed by a Q&A. The participation & interest by both parents, junior players and club members was very refreshing. We had Win News there to cover the story which was broadcasted Wednesday night. Video of coverage in comment section.
The free sausage sizzle was supplied on the night.
A big thank you to Rob Barty for passing on his extensive experience as a tennis parent and the great stories of Ash and her journey.
Yeppoon Tennis Club has been successful with 2 grants in the last few months.
In April we were notified of our successful application for the Livingstone Community Grant. We thank Livingstone Shire Council, Mayor, Andy Ireland and Councilors along with Mick Cranny Investments.
In May we were notified of our successful application for the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF). We thank the State Government and the Gambling Community Benefit Committee.
Both the Grant funds are going towards the Yeppoon Tennis Clubs initiative to refurbish two abandoned Council Tennis Courts into 8 Pickleball Courts. These courts can also be used for Tennis Hot Shots catering for beginner juniors.
The Project is planned to commence in August 2021.
The courts to be refurbished are seen in the photo on the right.
